A part of the profit made by D Plus One goes to the D-Day Dodgers Foundation. Founded by Jimmy Hilgen and Tjarco Schuurman, the foundation's goal is to tell the lesser known stories of the Second World War. Originally intended to tell the story of the Italian Campaign, the foundation now works in North West Europe too, raising monuments, giving lectures and guiding one the former battlefields. But one of the main goals is to create "Faces of.." projects where they try to give the fallen soldiers on Canadian and British cemeteries a face again by placing them in front of the headstones during ceremonies and commemorations.
